Born and raised in Texas, Asher Triplett is a visual artist who recently graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Drawing & Painting and Photography. His art focuses on emotions, mental health and identity. His paintings are moody and abstract, while his photography is vibrant, focusing on the simple moments of human existence. He is currently exploring abstraction in both painting and photography. Key influences on his artwork are abstract expressionists and color field painters as well as artists who use their work to talk about political and social themes. He works primarily in digital photography and acrylic paint, although he also loves film photography and oil pastels. To him, artwork is a means of expressing his own emotions and feelings including his turmoil with his own personal identity and purpose as well as opening up conversation on mental health.
